Wedgewood-Houston Nashville: The Creative District in 2026

Wedgewood-Houston -- WeHo to locals -- is the neighborhood that Nashville's creative class calls home. It's not as famous as East Nashville or as polished as Germantown, but it has something neither of them has quite replicated: an authentic arts and creative industry infrastructure that gives it a character all its own.

The Basics

What Makes WeHo Different

The neighborhood sits just south of downtown and has a visible creative economy -- galleries, studios, and makers' spaces occupy converted industrial buildings. The annual Wedgewood-Houston Art Crawl draws thousands of visitors and the space fills year-round with studio events, gallery openings, and creative pop-ups.

The restaurant scene is legitimately good and getting better. Butcher & Bee, Chaatable, and several other spots have made WeHo a dining destination in its own right.

The Housing Reality

WeHo is evolving fast. New construction townhomes and condos are going up throughout the neighborhood, and prices have appreciated significantly over the past 5 years. The original housing stock -- small industrial-era homes and converted commercial buildings -- is increasingly scarce.

Who Fits Here

Creative professionals who want to be in an active scene without the full price tag of East Nashville. Buyers who value originality over polish. People relocating from Brooklyn, Portland, or similar creative neighborhoods.
